About Us
Established for over 50 years, we are a third generation family owned business and one of the North West of England’s leading firms of auctioneers and valuers. Founded by Philip Warren and Thomas Wignall and now run by father and son team, Peter Warren MRICS and James Warren FGA. Over the years we have gained the respect and trust of professional and private clients alike with our honest and personal approach. Holding regular auctions of fine art, antiques, jewellery, watches, silver, collectors’ items and house contents, we connect North West based vendors with thousands of regular and new buyers throughout the UK and across the world.
Peter Warren MRICS (Chartered Arts and Antiques Surveyor) has been in the business for over 40 years. During this time, he has accumulated an exceptional depth of knowledge, experience and understanding of the trade. As members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors our firm complies with their professional conduct and accounting regulations and our client’s funds are secured by the RICS money protection scheme.
James Warren FGA has been involved in the business over 20 years as an auctioneer and valuer. Since the introduction of online bidding he has identified the potential for collectors’ items and marketing sales in the worldwide market place. Finding his passion in jewellery, he graduated and became a fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain 2021, making him the only FGA qualified auctioneer in Lancashire.
Our auction calendar encompasses, fine art and antiques, mid 20th century, jewellery, watches and general sales. Our collectors’ auctions include a wide variety of items such as silver, coins, toys, photographic equipment, militaria, vinyl records, musical and scientific instruments and many other eclectic pieces. We also deal with sales of specific single owner collections, making us an exceptionally active saleroom. All auctions are conducted in the room and live online over three internet platforms.
We conduct complete or part house clearances and written valuations for probate, insurance, and family division. With our knowledgeable, qualified and experienced team you can be assured of a straight forward and sympathetic process with the best possible prices realised for your objects.
