A Charles I joined oak backstool, the back panel carved in relief with a central flowering rose and dated 1612, probably Lancashire, width 47cm, depth 45cm & height 98cm.
Condition - chip to left front of seat, old worm holes to left side, left upright cracked at joint, play in all joints, general wear, top moulding appears to be a later piece, original likely domed but broken off, carving on legs and uprights likely later.
