A Georgian 8 day walnut long case clock circa 1775, the hood having scrolled top with carved gilt flower heads, dentilated cornice, turned pillars and glazed door, 5 pillar movement striking on single bell, steel and gilt brass dial with roman numerals, seconds subsidiary, date wheel, labelled 'M. Ferron, London 15', dial diameter 18.5cm, the case having quarter cut pillars and cross banded door, base with shaped platform foot, height 220cm. Listed in Britten's Old Clocks and Watches and Their Makers, page 442, Ferron, Michael 1753-1786; CC s. of Abraham; app. his father 8 Oct 1753; f. 3 Apr 1769; livery 1786.

Condition - good, new seat board and possibly over restorations, the extent of which i'm not entirely sure, later handle to hood door, later lock and unsightly hole from previous, various general wear to case to include scuffs, scratches etc. comes with two weights and pendulum.
