A pair of mid 19th century Gothic oak hall chairs in the manner of AWN Pugin, architectural design with dentilated top rail, arched panelled backs having carved crest, panelled seats, octagonal section legs, width 53cm, depth 51cm & height 121cm. Provenance - private estate Greater Manchester, a number of chairs attributed to Pugin and with similar dimensions currently in the Royal Collection Trust, Grand Entrance Hall, Windsor Castle.
Condition:- General wear through age and use, some play in most joints, holes on the back of one chair showing screws, age related gaps in some joints, no other sign of any damage or repair
