A George III Regency period mahogany chamber writing table attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1815, the top with inset stationary compartment and reeded edge, above frieze drawer, on ring turned and reeded legs, terminating on brass castors, width 66cm, depth 47.5cm & height 72.5cm, unmarked except for indistinct pencil mark to underside of drawer. For similar example see Susan E Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, vol. one page 300, plate 328.
Condition - left knob broken, knobs probably later replacements, beading missing to right front corner, slight ding to right reeded edge, otherwise fine, legs sturdy, general wear including old marks, scuffs, scratches etc.
