A contemporary diamond, sapphire and rock crystal quartz pendant, formed from a gadrooned outer ring of rock crystal quartz with frosted finish, inset with an 18ct gold off centre concave cluster of random set sapphires and diamonds, featuring fourteen round mixed cut blue sapphires ranging in weight from approx. 0.35ct to 1.35cts, total approx. sapphire wt. 10 carats, nine round brilliant cut diamonds ranging in weight from approx. 0.03ct to 0.20ct, total approx. diamond wt. 1 carats, the cluster measuring approx. 17mm, total diameter 50mm, hinged curved link suitable for hanging on chain of 2.5mm or less in diameter, the cluster hallmarked 18ct gold, sponsor's mark 'D&F', (probably David Deakin) Deakin & Francis, Birmingham 1976, gross wt. 36.4g.
Condition - very good, general wear to metal including minor scratches, top right sapphire with chip to girdle visible on closer inspection only from front and back, other minor nibbles to sapphires but generally very good, some colour zoning and inclusions visible and minor inclusions with 10x loupe, even blue colour through the stones, the diamonds appear bright and lively with minor inclusions visible with 10x loupe only, one with dark mineral inclusion, no visible yellowness, approx. clarity VSI - SI1, colour approx. F/G, sold without certificate, clarity, colour are our opinion only, the stone weight has also been estimated while set.
